It has been written that “she possesses a beautiful facile soprano voice with a potent and exciting power with high belt extension. Classically trained, she is equally at home in musical theatre, jazz/standards, and contemporary pop genres. With exceptional intellect and musical instincts, Katie shapes phrases deftly and moves in and out of vocal textures and colors like the most seasoned of performers, defying her age.”
Her performance of the Maesa Pullman/Dalal Bruchmann composed film’s score “At the Edge” was called “hauntingly beautiful” and nominated for “Best Score in an Independent Film” by Hollywood Music in Media. Her work includes singing for Jaclyn Bethany's feature film “Indigo Valley” and on its Sony Music Entertainment released soundtrack. She was featured on the soundtrack of the Emmy-Award winning series “The Rehearsal.” Accompanied by award winning pianist, songwriter and composer Jeff Franzel in performing Cole Porter’s classic “Night and Day,” she was recognized for how "her passionate voice and beautiful dynamics created a true signature sound” and the score was nominated for “Best Original Score” by the Indie Series Awards. She also sang several Pullman songs, including the emotionally captivating “Free As a Bird,” for the film “The Delta Girl.” A featured soloist for "Festival South," she has performed for audiences in the southeast United States and internationally, in Germany and most recently, Spain. Her distinctive standards sound, which has been called "her own authentic genre,” is influenced by legendary commercial artists spanning eighty years of genres beginning with Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Billie Holliday, Sarah Vaughn, and Gladys Knight to Nora Jones, Stevie Nicks and Lady Gaga. She is similarly moved by the songwriting greatness of Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and Billy Joel.
